Loch Ness is what, 23 miles long, a mide wide and about 1,000 feet deep in places? That's a pretty big aquarium for a dino-carryover. I don't think it's an impossibility. Aligators/crocodiles are leftovers from dinosaurs. Other species of animals known today are leftovers from dinosaurs. But I'm not sure if I believe in its existence.
Nessy, like most of the fabled creatures here in America, tends to be camera shy. These mysterious creatures only show up to one person with a camera or to people in small groups. But when the expedition is underway and professionals go out with the most sophisticated equipment known to man, nothing is found.
America's biggest myth is Bigfoot. Well, aliens, too, but that's another ballpark. Giant apes did exist and could still exist, but the likelihood of creatures remaining over hundreds of years of tale telling without being publically spotted seems far fetched. They'd have to reproduce at least occassionally.
Nessy is supposedly a plesiosaur, which dates back to the Jurassic period. Meaning that the species would have to had survived 200 million years ... give or take. And since there only seems to be ONE Nessy (lol!), that means she's also a Highlander! So there's a lot working against her existence. You would think anything to have a family would actually make itself better known -- especially a reptile that has more than one offspring at a go. Nessy would be the queen fish in the entire Loch. So it's not like she'd/they'd shy away from the surface or even from humans (or the little robots they use to view the Loch).
