Have you ever been harrassed at work?

Quite a few years ago, I was harrassed by a guy at work. It started in small friendly ways that I wouldn't have even considered a problem, but over time it escalated. For the most part, I'm a friendly person, I'm not witchy and I wouldn't take 'friendly' as something else unless... of course... the person was VERY CLEAR. It got to a point where I went to human resources in a panic, almost ready to QUIT to get away from it, and they moved me to another shift. What do you know but the GUY showed up on my same shift not a week later.
NOW. I have OTHER resentment stemming from the fact that human resources NEVER should have allowed that to happen, but that is for a different day. Has something like this ever happened to you? It could be anything, from just unwanted friendliness to outward advances, this guy used to practically follow me around and find excuses to squeeze past me, etc. Eventually I had to get a guy from another department to go to my car with me so this guy from MY dept wouldn't follow me out there when my shift ended!
Oh, and it gets worse. I was MARRIED at the time and the entire place knew it, including the jerk who was harrassing me. I mentioned it to my dad once too and my dad made a comment about wanting to go and shoot the guy lol.
One more thing... eventually they tried to split the blame... the company I mean. How in the world is it ever YOUR fault if you get harrassed and try to get away from it? I never told the guy I hated him or anything, just that his behavior was inappropriate and he needed to stop making me as uncomfortable as humanly possible whenever I was at work...

yeah.. at first it was my boss like "accidently" rubbing up against me when there was plenty of room to walk by.. i avoided him like the plague and was always uncomfortable.. it was my first job and i was 17 and naive at best with that kind of stuff.. his wife worked there some and she hated my guts and so when i fainted at work (no real reason why) they freaked out and she spread rumors i was anorexic (i was 90lbs at that time because i didnt know i had a digestion problem) and they cut me from full time to like 10 hours a week.. i ended up walking out because it was so screwed up..
turns out i wasnt the only one with the boss issue.. but other people were milking it and getting houses and stuff out of it.. i couldn't be like that if i wanted to..

I only ever had the ONE bad problem, it actually happened a separate time but THAT guy was much easier to deal with. He wasn't vindictive, he was misguided so he wasn't a jerk and he didn't attempt to blame ME. Also, he was drunk when he made a pass so I had to consider he wasn't all there - although he did it IN FRONT OF MY HUSBAND lol.

Hi mommybo,
I never experienced that...That is very scary..I don't find it also fair for the company to split the blame....I hope they will really think and study how bad that action is and it will always bother any employees who will experience such thing!
