Hello my friends. Today is a shining day and a wonderful son above the sky. I feel the spring running throw all my cells, but I have a little question that I want to share with you. I know the answer, but I am curious if you can guess it. Why the sky is blue? :)

I used to think the sky was blue because it was reflecting off the oceans or something. Then I heard it's because of something to do with light wavelentghs or something. xD

why the sky is blue? - blue sky
The blue color of the sky is due to Rayleigh scattering. As light moves through the atmosphere, most of the longer wavelengths pass straight through. Little of the red, orange and yellow light is affected by the air. However, much of the shorter wavelength light is absorbed by the gas molecules. The absorbed blue light is then radiated in different directions. It gets scattered all around the sky. Whichever direction you look, some of this scattered blue light reaches you. Since you see the blue light from everywhere overhead, the sky looks blue. As you look closer to the horizon, the sky appears much paler in color. To reach you, the scattered blue light must pass through more air. Some of it gets scattered away again in other directions. Less blue light reaches your eyes. The color of the sky near the horizon appears paler or white.

there 2 possible answers: 1) because the wave lenght of the color blue is shorter, and so it's better reflected by the atmospehere of the Earth.(i mean the the atmosphere filters the color blue) 2) althought i dont belive this one, it's said that it might be the refllection of the oceans in the atmosphere, who acts as a mirror because of the different temperature layers. :) i hope it helps you, i myself belive the first one is true.

Because it is. That is an answer I got far to often when growing up. So, I starting asking different people questions, anyways. The sky is blue because, that is the color that comes through best after the sun rays pass the the moisture particles in the air. That is a very simple answer, I am sure it can be made more complicated, but that is what I will stick to. That or because God said so...

the sky is blue as a result of the earth being hollow. With the earth being hollow there has to be some way that light reaches the inside so that the people living there may have light also. So at least once a day unbeknowst to us living on the surface gas escapes from the insides of the earth and is released into the atmosphere giving us the illusion that the sky is blue. When truth be told if that gas did not escape from the earth all we would see is darkness
