I have recently had some trouble studying and memorizing material. I know most of the basic stuff like study where it is quiet and don't mess around but I was wondering if anyone had any more "exotic" tips that they use to memorize and learn things. Anything is welcome and thank you in advance.

Student success depends on your use of effective time management. Time management is a skill that can be learned. First, you need to understand how your time is spent. Keep a record for several days documenting how much time is spent in class, studying, visiting with friends and family, working and eating. Take a look at the list to see where you time is going.

Learning to listen actively will assist you in your learning career. Active listening will help in the classroom, and it will help you get more out of and contribute more to group study sessions. To listen actively, it is important to focus on the person who is talking. Don’t fidget or become distracted by other people or events. Think about your experience with a subject in order to understand the subject more thoroughly. Don’t think about your own bias or opinion; you are there to hear what the speaker has to say. It will help if you concentrate on the speaker with your ears and eyes. Follow the movements the speaker makes in an effort to hear more. Don’t interrupt the speaker. Make sure that all information has been conveyed before offering your opinion. Be involved at the end of the presentation. Ask questions in order to better understand the speaker and to remember the topic. It may help to give the speaker a minute or two to rest after a presentation. Active listening will help you in a group study situation. Group study involves students exchanging information. This information may be factual, and it may also be opinion oriented. When opinions are stated, active listening becomes vital. In a group study situation, it may help to restate what you hear others say in an effort to understand their thoughts. One of the objectives of group study is to learn something. Another objective is to produce a final project that has been assigned. Either one of these objectives are dependent on the listening ability of the members of the group.

I think it's important to find a place that you're comfortable to be in. Like free of any distraction, free of annoying sound and free from people that might disturb you. That way, you could concentrate and focus on the things that you should be studying. You don't have to memorize all the stuff. Read and just be keen on keywords, some of the most important words that you think you need. Use flash cards or something like that or invent like an acronym or abbreviation for some group of words. Good luck.

see blion my basic funda is do to the point study. 1. what i mean to say before studying any thing of any subject just try to get collective information about chapters and its contents and from where you can get all contents, i am saying this because in exam time i find very difficult to collect such information as everything is not given in a single book but i even don't know the name of other books where i can get other stuffs. so first have such basic information. 2. go though the previous questions from that subject and if possible try to know that which question is more important and which is less and prepare according to that. 3. try to write important points somewhere so that while revising before the exam night you can recollect all the stuffs . 4. never loose your confidence because its a great tool which can enhance your efficiency at the study time. 5. if possible try group study it can save your effort while reading whole book by yourself. 6. plan according to the gap between the exams, if one subject has only one day gap then read that subject in advance else if it has sufficient gap then you can study that time also. 7. remeber self study is the better study i follow only such steps rest happens according to time to time and subject to subject

try to study or memorize in the morning.. our brain works better after a good night sleep.. and if you like listening to music, you can record the things you need to memorize then let it play while your doing the house chores or chilling at your fave spot in the house..

Post-its! If there are is anything that you have trouble remembering, write it on a post-it and put it on your mirror/chest of drawers/wardrobe/bedroom door/lamp on your bedside table, basically anywhere you will see it at least twice in a day and make sure that you read it each time you see it. Worked wonders for me
