Two guitars that helped shape the sounds of music...Both very dynamic. I wanna know which is most preferred by anyone who plays guitar.

a lot of bands I love use Telecasters, they seem to have more the sort of sound I like, but a Strat shape is comfier to play between the two. however I'm a Gibson Girl at heart. nothing is more glorious than a Gibson SG

ever played one? the SG has a wonderful, warm resonance, or kick back to the bridge pickups and you get a lovely, sharp, jagged punch. and from a girly point of view, the Gibson Scale is much easier to get to grips with with small hands, and the neck is not too hefty, but not so flat as to make it uncomfortable. on my Fender scaled guitars (don't have any genuine fenders, but several that are clearly based on the strat or tele design) I find them more of a challenge to play. I suppose if you have larger hands, a Gibson scale may be rather cramped, but it does great for my small hands. and of course, the SG standard is sublimely beautiful

what can you say about this guitar? I found it in some website and some say it's a good innovation to combine the two great guitars in one package, but others say it's a desecration of the roots of sound....

Personally, I'm not a Fender fan so I don't really like either guitar much. I like My Gibson SG, but even then, I would prefer ESP or Jackson. I like Metal, and apart from Iron Maiden, metal and Fender guitars don't really mix in my opinion haha.

ESP and Jackson rocks. Used by one of my favorite bands, Slayer. Definitely versatile guitars.

I kind of prefer the stratocaster. I just feel it has better tonality, and when it comes to playing lighter forms of music it really hits the spot. I own a bottom of the line Mexican Stratocaster, and it is still great in all aspects. It feels great to play, wide frets and space between the strings. Its a very good clean guitar, bottom line. Blues, jazz, and such all sound great. I like playing metal too, it is all right on there; though I prefer other guitar companies in general for that genre.

I definitely agree. The strat is such a versatile guitar. My strat is a 70's strat from Fender Japan. It's got two much tone and power that when I plug it to my amp, the guitars volume and tones are just on level 3. If i put it on 5 or 6 sounds like I'm dopping a lot of chimy coins on the floor. Very nice for clean tones and light amp overdrive. The notes kinda like splits at the end of every bend. As for my tele, it sounds woody and twangy, great for blues. I use an EHX Big Muph Pi modded with a 12ax7 tube in it and it sounds monster.

I think the reality of it all is that any guitar can be good if the guitarist knows how to play and has the proper gear to play it out of. I mean, even Squire (by Fender) Stratocasters aren't that bad. I mean, they are no thousand dollar sounding guitar; but they are still sweet. For me, when I bought my guitar I partially bought it for tone and versatility; but also was impressed by how comfortable it was to hold and play.

I really don't care much for Strats or Teles at all. I grew up with Fender and maybe that's why I dislike them. I think they are whiny treble babies. At any normal set amp. Ick. A guitar should sound great from the beginning, which to me most Fender guitars don't. The Jaguar has a sexy jazz sound to it though. I'm a Caparison guy at heart, went over from Gibson. Don't know what else I can say :D

Gibson and Fender released a ROBOT guitar. It tunes itself to pitch automatically. Geesh. Why did they do that? What's next? A guitar that could play by itself?

Yeah, I'm a big strat fan. Definitely used them fo the blues in ma fingas. Can get any bluesy tone you need. I have a triple tone sunburst 1974 (not reissue) original japan made fender, and it's just awesome. It's got some scratches on the body (adds mojo when i'm playing it LOL) and the maple neck is all yellowish and the funny oversized headstock. I love this guitar.

I'd perfer the stratocaster, It has a very unique look to hit. Plus I think the name sounds cooler than telecaster, sounds like a telephone guitar! If there was a different chice like Gibson I'd probably go with that one, Cause It's pure awesomeness. Awesomeness isn't a word but I don't care.

Yeah, a Gibson Les Paul or an SG would definitely be an awesome guitar to rock on with. :)
