AIDS has been creating havoc in so many people's lives. Does anyone here know where is the research programme now? Any possibility of getting the vaccine in this few years time?

an aids cure is possible. Scientist have come very close several times. I remember reading an article in the Cleveland Plain dealer a long time ago that said there was a potential aids vaccine that seemed to work on people of Asian and African descent but not on people of European descent. I never saved the article so you don't have to believe me but the point is with the mapping of the human genome and enough persistence anything can be cured or prevented. I'm trying to include some links to scientific articles from well known publications but i don't know how well they will work. One is from the wall street journal the other is from the New York Times . The New york Times has a lot of information about Aids. http://online.wsj.com/articleSB1220602394113507555.html The methods that are known to cure AIDS are extremely impractical to try to use them to treat large numbers of people. http://www.nytimes.com/2008/11/14/health/14hiv.html?_r=1&scp=7&sq=aids &st=cse

I don't disbelieve with you said. There is no reason for you to lie. But it's little strange that the potential vaccine does not with some people. Thanks for the giving the link. I shall read them up.

I honestly don't expect to see a vaccine in my lifetime. It seems like they're very far from finding a vaccination.

I wish they could find it soon.

I think it might be pretty hard to find an AIDS vaccine because AIDS I think, ia ind of like cancer in that it is probably several different viruses that mutate and it is not the same thing all of the time. I havent heard of any new research being done on this so I really dont know what the odds are of findin an aids virus.

Yea, I heard that AIDS virus mutates so quickly that it's very difficult to find its weakpoint. Cancer is not by virus, is it? I think cancer is the growth of extra WBC... not sure!

I doubt it. We'll probably just find better ways to help people with AIDS deal with the symptoms.

Some believe that the vaccine has been discovered and is in existence. Some believe that AIDS was a man made virus so therefore they would have the vaccine for it too. If you believe in the conspiracy theories the AIDS virus was introduced to control the population and what better way to control it than a virus that is transmitted through procreation. Do I believe that ? I am not sure but is just another view on it.

Interesting read, but I don't think my mind can take such a conspiracy theory. Anyway, thanks for commenting.
