i never wash clothes before wearing them. I never really thought about it before but it is a good point. There could have been people who tried them on in the dressing room before i bought them. A shirt in a package is one thing but something off the rack you make a very good point. Thanks.

I always wash my clothes before wearing them; mainly because this was something that my parents instilled in me when I was younger. Pretty much it's the 'you don't know who's been trying on these clothes before or if they've been returned or not' theory. In short, I'd rather play it safe and wash my clothes before wearing them.

I always wash clothes before wearing them, for two reasons. One is that others may have tried them on or had their hands all over them or the garment has been hanging for quite some time. The other is that I want to get the new cloth look from them. Sometimes clothing has creases or hanger marks and the best way to get them out is in the laundry.

Actually it depends from which shop I get the clothes from. If it's from the mall I normally would just go ahead and wear it. But if it's from the thrift shop then I would wash it. but if I really need to wear it already and the laundry basket isn't full yet for washing then I would just wear the new clothes too.

I always wash them first . And the reason is I worked in a retail store for a while and I know first hand that the clothes that you return to the lady siting outside the dressing rooms (if there is one and if you return it to her! LOL) at the end of the day are given a quick look to see if there are any obvious spots and they are returned right to the rack you got them from. And who knows who has tried them on. One incident that sticks out in my mind was a lady that was trying on clothes one time and complaining to the attendant about having to pick her kids up at school prior to coming there (the attendant agreed for the kids to sit with her while mom tried the clothes on). While the kids were sitting there the kids told her they had head lice. Now I know things happen but who knows whether mom had head lice or not! So now you know Wash your new outfit first! LOL

I very seldom wash clothes fresh out of the store unless it is something like a bathing suit or underwear. Something that is close to the body. If it is a pair of jeans, top, shirt, etc., I usually wear it straight from the store unless it looks soiled or smells. Quite frankly, I would really have to like the item if it has an odor to even try it on much less purchase it. I definitely would not dry clean something before I wore it either.

i usually wash it. "new" clothes tend to be a bit stiff and itchy if you don't. sometimes they have a slight scent to them too.
