Some people really concern about the brand name when they buying a computer. Sony Vaio is the best, while Lenovo is the worst in the market. How would you know? Because the price difference. I can't argue something like that, base on the price they setted. So, would you concern about the brand name of your computer?

I always am concerned about name brands I suppose. Of course, I also look up reviews on the products I'm thinking about purchasing and it's not like I'm going to buy an item solely on the fact that it has a name brand attached to it. In terms of laptops, I've always bought HP and been wary/avoided Acer laptops.

I would not worry about the brand name of any computer these days. It is the components that make the system that count. I don't really think you can buy a bad machine these days. With the likes of Sony you are just paying for the name, the same can be said of any brand name.

Price is pure BS. Sony is basically the Apple of the PC market, in that you pay a higher price for the brand name and product design. (Apple does use higher-quality, well-tested components, compared to the average PC, but I don't know if Sony also does this.) From what I've heard, HP is the best, Dell should be avoided, Toshiba and Compaq are also okay. Personally, I only buy IBM-branded ThinkPads (I buy used). I just like the looks. :)
