I haven't been around much!

Bus Surveys for the local council - Subsidised bus routes operated on behalf of the council have to be checked regularly
March 23, 2009 5:32am CST
It's day 143 of unemployment in Gordon Brown's Britain and finally this afternoon I have an interview for a job! Part Time, casual, no guarantees etc., and the wage is the national minimum but what the heck. You have to try, I suppose! The last two weeks have been hectic as our first grandchild was expected on March 17th, St. Patrick's Day, but she stayed put much to the frustration of the better half who used a week's holiday from work to be with our daughter. Now 6 days overdue and my wife is back at work nervously awaiting the summons when it comes! Also have some casual work this week surveying subsidised bus routes for our local council and the weather has decided to regress from Spring to Winter just in time for that. Ho Hum!

I'm in the opposite situation today: off to the doc's to get my loan insurance sorted and another med cert. Still can't work. Much respect to you, though: never give up, never surrender! Best of luck with the job(s) and also for the birth. You get to be an old fogey now...

Best of luck with your ventures, too. Must say I've never been so busy since being made redundant!
