I ran across this article from my local radio station. Anything that has to do with books for me will make me stop and read. Now, the library really sounds like some place I'd like to visit and have a look myself. I don't live that far from it. It seems to be encoraging it's employees to bike to work and the enticement has me jealous already....lol

Baltimore County Gets First New Library Branch In 21 Years
Monday, March 23, 2009
WBAL Radio as reported by Bill Vanko
It's not your father's library.
The new Perry Hall branch of the Baltimore County library where they're cutting the ribbon this afternoon includes amenities and features that weren't even on the drawing board when the last new library building in the county opened in 1988.
The county says the library was build to strict "green building" specifications, including energy efficient heating and cooling systems, automatic motion sensors to turn lights on and off in meeting rooms, and a bike rack and shower to encourage employees to bike to work.
The library also includes a working fireplace in the adult reading room, a plasma TV in an area specially designed for teens, and the first-ever drive-up window where people can return items, or check out new ones that they've reserved on-line.
Library Manager Darcy Cahill says she hopes other features including a large playroom for families with young children, and an extensive collection of CDs and DVDs will help to make the library "a destination" for the community rather than simply someplace to go to pick up a book.
The new branch on Honeygo Blvd. replaces the old Perry Hall branch that opened in 1963 on Bel Air road.
