Where do you seek comfort when life gets you down?

Me, I try to be sad as possible, I soak myself into my music. This is where I take refuge...I play sad melodies, listen to the saddest notes, close my world from everyone else, and just when I couldn't take being alone and sad anymore, I emerge, to seek happiness.

I pray a lot. It is through my faith that gives me courage to battle my sadness. I also express my sadness through crying because after crying it gives me a better perspective about life.

I'm with you, Redhornet. Music is my medicine. I also pray. It calms me and gets me back to my normal chipper mood. If those don't work, then the last thing I'll do is go to my father (my best friend) and talk to him about it. Usually his words encourage and give me hope.

You're lucky you grew up knowing your dad. I didn't have a dad when I was growing up. Never really knew him. My mom and dad split up when I was young. And I'm an only child. My mom made me strong. :)

Yea, I know how you feel, not to have a dad. Mine left to go to Brazil when I was 6. We were finally reunited 6 years later, when I was 12. But before he left, I was a daddy's girl, and that didn't change when he came back. I'm just proud to have a father who is man enough to not give up on his child. My mother on the other hand, well, I never had a good relationship with her. Sadly, it's her own fault for not being a mother. In a way I could say the same, she made me strong...by showing me, through her actions, what not do be like and what not to do.

When things get rough I usually confine myself to my room with strict instructions that I NOT be bothered by anyone....I like to soak in the jacuzzi, paint, draw, write and ALWAYS whatever I'm doing I like to have the tunes on...Been that way since I was just a little kid actually

i will write a diary. i think it is really a good way to get rid of your sorrow and sadness. someone likes to do so to his best friend. if you do have such a good friend, you are very lucky. but i don't have or perhaps that's only because i don't think they can keep what i tell them a secret. a diary will never let on your secret to others. after writing, i can always feel better.

Chilling is good, kinda like soul searching. And afterwards,we are never the same, we become stronger and a better person.

I open my Bible, read the Psalms. I go to God in prayer, pour out my heart to Him. I sing to Him as i play praise and worship melodies. And i share what i feel to my bestfriend whom God has given me to share my life with...my husband.
