Which food critique will you prefer: Too Flavorful or Too Bland?

I would actually prefer being told that my dish is too bland because I know I can still work around that, but when somebody tells me I used too much salt, pepper or sugar... now that's a bit of a problem. Some would just say they can use milk or water to mellow down the flavor, but I will never consider that when I cook. So what do you prefer to hear between the two?

I guess we have similar opinions as I too am not sure how I could fix a dish that's too flavorful. It's easier to fix dishes that lack taste as you can just add in a bit of that ingredient that is lacking. I also don't feel like using water or milk to mellow down the flavor as it might eventually kill the taste. Well, I guess it all depends on the preference of the taster.

Actually, as much as possible, i don't like to hear any of their comments like too flavorful or too bland. It makes my self esteem lower than it used to be. They always say that comments are helpful, may it be good or bad because it can help you grow and make you a better cook. Its not in my case. But well, i can't help but hear the opinions of people around me when it comes to my cooking. When it comes to a worst situation, i'll agree with you. Too bland is really better than too flavorful and the reasons are very obvious.
