shaking hands with a cold during an interview

i have a bad cold and it's very obvious i'm sick, i've been applying for jobs and wonder if i get an interview do i go in and shake the person's hand. i don't want to be rude but i don't want to spread my germs. would you say sorry i don't want to shake your hand cause i'm sick. what would you do
