Anger

Hi,i always hear that count 1 to 100 when u get anger.Does this really works,when we are in anger will there any chance of thinking what we are doing.I don't know this counting will help us.Any ideas on this.How to stop our anger.

Well, I think it depends mostly on the personality. A choleric person cannot calm down that easily as a fleumatic for example. Nevertheless, I usually try to understand the reasons why something made me mad - if it is a person, I try to figure out why he did so and so, and if it circumstances- I try to accept them as they are, as unchangeable for the moment. When you understand why and how - and accept it - there is simply no place for anger. When I have feelings of anger I prefer to be left alone for about 10 minutes. I am like my father, can blow up but after 10 minutes I will have forgotten. It takes alot to make me mad but when I am pushed I blow up. As for how to stop you anger, everybodys different. Just have to try different things like being alone for a little while or counting like you said. The counting might make a person think long enough as to why they are angry.

what the counting does is give you a few minutes to cool down, and think about what you are doing. Because all it takes some times just that minute to stop you from doing something really stupid, or something that you might regret. I know that it is not a easy thing to do expecally if you are angry. Even if it is not counting it is a good idea to have a trigger when you are mad. What i do is i walk, until i calm down then i can go back to the situation with a clear head, and know what i am doing. Their are far to many bad things that can happen when you have a bad temper.and do not think about things when we are angry.

What you do is to get away from whatever made you angry. How can you be calm when something or someone making you angry is just infront of you? Go outside and get some fresh air and do some breathing excise. it works for me....

I just post a commnent that similar to your question. I think it's true to count, but I usually don't count that much, just 1 to 10. Actually it's all about self controlling. If we want to get rid of our anger, then we will always have in our mind "I don't want to get angry anymore". So, when we getting angry, just remember our will, try to get rid of our anger, think about something nice or happy moment. I hope that will help. Thank You
