Suicide is condemned by church right?

Well this discusion is a result of a "stupid" conversation between a my dear friend (Cristian) and me (non-religious person)so we came to one conclusion about one thing, smoking haha. First suicide is condemned and far from aproved in many religions and people who commit suicide are on their way to "hell" right? So we know smoking kills, true it does kill slowly but on the long term it kills (nothing agains cigaretter, I am a semi-smoker :/) it's a fact - so in a way you are commiting a slow suicide if you are smoking? Right? So in conclusion if you are a smoker you are going to hell. It was a random blut, you must not take it seriously but I am eager to see your opinion on this theory, why it works and why it does not.

I believe the commandment that says, "Thou Shalt Not Kill." I think that includes killing ones' self whether that be quickly or over a long period of time. As for the question of who's going to hell, I think I will leave that to God to decide. If you believe in the first statement, then we are all guilty to one degree or another.

True enough. As I said the discusion should not be taken to seriously, I mean if God exists I am sure you would not be condemned to hell just because you smoke (or do something simmilar unhealty) heaven would be a lonely place, with only small children (does put an argument on why there are so many baby angels on the paintings)-I am having a go with imagination again. Anyway thanks for sharing.

Maybe that is what I was reading yesterday in Matthew 12:31-32. I will put it here in the King James Version: "31-Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men. 32-And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come." I find that it truly is not good to have a hard heart according to Psalm 95:8 and Proverbs 28:14, and yet I am encouraged by what God will do in Ezekiel 11:19 and Ezekiel 36:26. God bless you and thank you for your kind sharing.
