I recently started writing articles for Associated Content which is a site that pays you to write. I have not received much money for my upfront payments that they offer and I was wondering if anyone had any tips that would give me more payment for the articles that I write. Thanks.

What I do is write only about stuff that interests me, and sometimes I'll use a "display only" sort of deal so I can submit stuff that had been previously published elsewhere. Then, I use Twitter, MySpace, and Livejournal to promote them. AC also offers Facebook to automatically post articles. They have a lot of options for you to use if you want to promote your article for the views.

I don't know if there is a tried and true method to raise the amount you are offerd. Just try to be as original as possible, not an easy task given the number of articles on there. I average around $4 per article and the most I have been paid for a single piece is $10. My best advice is to promote your work and try to earn some extra money via the page views.....good luck
