Self-esteem is something which reflects a person's personality. It is something which gives you confidence to move on when people doubt your performance. What are the ways to boost ones self-esteem. Sometimes we all come in a situation when we feel we our lost and feel worthless, if we don't take control of our feelings at that time, we can do huge damage to our personality

I think it is important to surround yourself with positive people who encourage you along the way. Also, if something in your life needs improving, then you work on it. For example, if you need to lose weight, change your eating habits. A total confidence booster is when you see results yourself and other people notice and compliment you. You should never let anyone put you down.

what you say is absolutely correct, I know of someone who really needs to improve self esteem , I told him to do what you just wrote, but it does not seem to work...what should I do, how to make him feel how important he is to people who love him...

Just keep reinforcing the fact that he is important to you. Find ways to help him feel confident. Does he like sports? Let him win at golf. You get my idea.

Hmm...sounds like there is nothing much one can do besides motivating and re-instilling the fact how important he/she is .... I have seen how a low self - esteem can mess up one's life....I really can't see people suffering from this problem.

There are factors that can boost one's self-esteem. One is lots of encouragement from friends or especially from immediate family. If possible there are times when an open forum takes place within the family, wherein family members evaluate each character personality so as to give feedback that is said in a pleasant way. Always motivate a person to perform things especially those that he believe he is uncapable of. Show your support in everything he do, so that he may develop sense of worth and importance. Appreciate all his accomplishments for the energy of doing it. If outcomes is'nt good, then guide him the best thing to do. Don't curse him of making a mistake.

yes, true I really like what you said "don't curse him of making a mistake" I guess lot of times people unknowingly curse and hurt the self esteem of the person. I have seen someone suffering from this and really feel helpless not be able to help.
