My friend got a ticket from a police with rude attitude.

Yesterday, a friend of mine got a traffic ticket. The reason is that he didn't stop at the "stop" sign, while making a right turn. The police stop him at the moment, and shouting at him. While my friend tried to get his license out of his pocket as an usual drill when a police stop you, he shouted at him again, saying that he hasn't asked him to pull out his license yet. After all the paperwork done, he warned him, if he not going to pay for the ticket, he will be arrested. Is that a threat or what? I told my friend that he should get his badge number, and file a complaint. I guess that policeman has a rough day that day. But he shouldn't treat our innocent citizens this way. Do not forget, we pay the taxes, we pay for this policeman's salary, his benefit. Although people make mistakes, they shouldn't be treated like that.

Maybe the police officer was trying to do your friend a favor? By yelling at him and making this experience absolutely miserable for your friend, the cop was making it very clear that he did something wrong. And since the experience was so bad, maybe next time your friend is a stop sign he will remember the experience and stop. Making a right turn on a stop sign might not seem like such a big deal, but it is. I once knew a mother who's small children were killed when another driver didn't stop at a stop sign. By treating your friend this way, the cop showed him that what he did was serious.

Well, if he ran a stop sign then he was not an inoccent citizen for one, and two he could have killed someone while running the stop sign and this may have ticked off the Police Officer. Also, the reason they get upset when you start reaching for things they did not ask you to get is because many Police Officers are killed during routine traffic stops (see this video I made for a very dear friend killed on a routine traffic stop http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WtS6niUUIbI)they do not like for you to reach for anything without them telling you to. That is a good way to get shot.Police Officers put their lives on the line every minute they have that uniform on for us. I am sure they have bad days and may act rude at times, but they have to assume they you may be dangerous or they are risking their lives even more. After all, they stopped you because you broke the law. Why would they assume you are a law abiding citizen?

People who work in the government is having an impression of rude attitude and very short patience. I've also experienced that.
