My wife is on her 1st trimester (approaching month #3) and I'm just wondering what foods she should eat for her and our baby to be healthy? Also, what are the foods she should avoid?

Hi there friend, you are so sweet that you are really concern with your wife's pregnancy.. for me the good food are vegetables, lots of this, then fruits of course, that's good for the skin specially that veges rich in iron it's because pregnant women really need to have more iron, because the baby inside the womb will get lots of nutrients from the mother, so the mother needs lots of nutrients and vitamins in the body, specially iron, maybe you have to give iron supplement just ask the OB of your wife.. she shoud avoid eating lots of carbohydrates and fats coz pregnant women can create diabetes while pregnancy and hypertension if she will eat anything that give harm to her.. just ask always the doctor for this, so that you will have more information to know.. good luck and congrats for the coming baby.. God Bless your family..

yes,she should be careful when she eat the food .you can ask her to drink more water .if she feel the food is too bland ,you can preserved prunes .it is health for her body . apart from this ,i think the most important thing is you should to make her live happy .TO sing for her ,or let her feel quiet .

fruits and vegetables are the best for pregnant women. also, your wife should drink milk that is fortified with iron and folate, its good for the baby's brain development. avoid fatty foods it could cause a rise in blood pressure of pregnant women leading to pre-eclampsia.

That is really nice that you are concerned about your wife and child. I believe when I was at that stage I eat more fresh vegtables, not cooked (because cooking can lessen the vitamin count) and stayed away from processed foods. Chicken is good for the skin too so I age a ton of that, plus nuts and no salt potatoe chips ( I know, but they were a treat) for the additional fiber. Even though she's early on, fiber is still something that she needs to have more of. Good luck and congratulations on your coming baby.
