I am 32 I am going back to college to get my Bachelors degree in Graphic Media and Animation, I feel exited about going back and I feel that I might be a little late. I also think that now is the time because I am more mature and not really worried in a social like I use to be in my late teens and early twentys I feel I will be more decated then most. Not saying some are not,What is your opinion on this? let me know what you think. I feel its a great idea.

Absolutely not, it's NEVER too late to further your education! In my cultural studies class, I have a 65 year old class mate! She is constantly talking about growing up in the cold war and her grandchildren. I think it's marvelous that older generations are deciding to go back to college, even if it's not to pursue a different career - but just to expand their horizons. It's a great idea, although the transition might be a little hard at first. If you feel uncomfortable taking a college-level class right off the bat, or if your placement test scores are slightly below par, you can also consider taking some "refresher" courses (I believe they call these Adult Basic Education courses) in case you need that. I agree with you, a lot of the college students who just get out of high school are still immature and don't really know what the term "work ethic" means, unlike more mature people who have perhaps experienced more in life. I think it's a great idea that you're going to go back to school, and everyone should encourage you. I'm sure you'll not only enjoy college and the challenges you'll experience there, but the greater job opportunities you'll face after graduation! Good luck to you in this new endeavor!

Good for you. It is never too late. There are 80 year olds getting their degrees. Me, I never wanted to go to college.I never found a subject that was worth the pressure and cost to study.when I was a teen and people asked what I wanted to do after highschool I would say sleep and watch hockey, I got to do both, I thought if I were pushed into going to college that I would pick a campus with the highest building so I could jump. Luckily , my mom didn't push me into college. So follow your bliss.

I do think that having matured will increase your chances of finishing your education. Most likely you will both study and have a (part-time) job aswell, so taking on this study is harder and something extra you take on. I have experienced that switching my studies from full-time to part-time and taking on a job has definatly matured me. I allways was very serious about my studie though.

Good idear!I'd like to do the same thing as you. When I come in the society and work hard for my life, I had found that my teachers taught me and told me were really useful and never be off it! Sometimes I feel a little empty and do not know what I should do tomorrow, then the school education occurs to me, I think it can not only improve our living ability, but also a good choice to fill my empty life!

Going back to school is never too late. Anyone can go back to school as long as they have enough resources and enough time. Actually, I also wanted to study again. I want to take another course and I feel very excited about it. I missed a lot of things when I was student. I think that I haven't done my best before. Now, I wanted to do it the best that I can. I am more matured and I think more confident,! So gogoggo.. shoot for it! Go back to school!@

I feel that going to school at any age to further your education is a great thing while I do agree that the older that you are when you go back the more you'll be focused on why you are there and not be as pressured by the social settings. Good luck and I think that you will do well. Take care.

My daughter is 33 and she's just started a University Degree in Business Law. She says she finds studying much easier than it was when she was younger. Probably because there aren't the same distractions. I don't think you are ever too old to learn something new, and I've known several people who went 'back to school' in their 50's and 60's. Keep your excitement and enjoy the experience and I'm sure you'll never regret it.

Go for it. For years I have been putting off going back for my RN degree because of money situations, this and that...well that was eight years ago. Enough is enough. I am ready and some way it will work out. Don't know how but I am not putting my life on hold anymore for fears. Do it. You'll be happier.

I think it is good to go back to school. Going to school, means to learn again. There are something needed to learn and do. In my opinion, a person backing to school would more cherish the chance of learning than other students. Well, I have no that experience, but ever I met someone who going back to school in university. They were harder and more mature as you said. So, I think it is always good to learn, no matter what time and which age. Congratulations to you!

Great idea, especially with what you're majoring in-it is much more relevant for right now than if you had majored in something ten years ago. You should be excited! Thirty-two is not too old! And you will probably make better grades and learn more than when you were younger too because you are much more serious about it. I knew a woman in my psychology class that graduated this year with her Bachelors in counseling-and she is 63 years old. She also graduatated magnacumlaude.

I too agree to the some extent of the above point . As of my experience in the university its not able to recognize the essence of practical problem during the study . But once when starts to work in a firm all the topics which have been studied will be better understood so after a small amount of work again going back to university for further study will be goo for any thechnical person

Lucky You! While growing up, I never liked studying. But now when I am working in the field that I love - computers, I want to learn more. And if possible go back and get my masters. But as I am working full time, I dont know when I can take that much needed break and pursue my dream of studying again. All the best for your degree and enjoy your time!

Learning is life-long. There is no barrier if one is keen on learning. The only challenge is the discipline to commit the time and energy to lessons but this can be overcomed. I wish you all the best.

i am happy for you, i love graphics and animation myself and during my time this course was not offered. It's great that you are going back for it. I totally support you on this and I understand how you feel. I think I'd feel the same way if I went back to school because of that. I think that when people age they realize things that they really want for their life. I know how you feel about the social life in school thing. I guess when you graduate and go out in the real world none of those social standards matters anymore. It's more of what you want to happen to your life not what the people around you thinks. Good luck with your future career ^_^!
