Yes, why not.. cake is part of every person's birthday.. without it, it seems birthday celebration/party isn't complete..you know, it's nice to blow your birthday candles, it makes your day complete.. just pick the cake which is your bestfriend's all time favorite flavor like mocha, chocolate, chocolate mousse ube, blueberry cheesecake, etc.. then buy her birthday candles to make it more special...good luck! and happy birthday to your bestfriend..

Yes, cake would be nice... BUT for someone who is REALLY close to you, you better think of something better. Personally, I appreaciate all gifts, whatever kind, but I'd appreciate it more if I know that the person who gave me the gift took time to think about what he or she would give me. A cake is nice but it is a SAFE gift. It's something that you give when you got nothing else to think of giving. But if it is your bestfriend you're giving the gift to, giving a cake would give the impression that you had no time to think about the gift to give. I'd rather give a letter or a card that I took time to write on than give something safe. Just my two cents worth...

If your friend do not have the habit of celebrating birthday without cake,then it will be meaningful and worth more.Otherwise,you shall think of some other gifts.Not too costly,but as a token of love,you can give any present for your friend.Cheers!

I think any other thing that reminds your friendship would be better than a cake. Because, already they may be ordering cake for the birthday party. As a friend, you may know your friend's secret with. So try to gift him/her that one, if you wish. Otherwise, you can present some useful items.
