i believe no one should suffer from poverty, as long as you have the ability to get a job or something you can earn from it. people who are experiencing it should also be aware and be more responsible when it comes to feeding their family. i mean, have a small family don't just conceive a child every year or more than you can afford. these people are already aware of their situation and yet they keep adding the number of children they already have. talk about irresponsible and who cares attitude.

I dont think poverty is a choice. People don't choose to not have the basic nescessities in life. Like the poster stated above, most people are born into poverty and try and sometimes fail to get out. I know that people who have the means to live a more lavish lifestyle choose to live a more frugal livestyle but in no way are they choosing proverty.
Yes, some people who are poor are content with the little they have, but it doesn't mean that its a choice that they are poor, if they had a choice Im sure they would choose to make there lives more comfortable.

Hi, aileen18! Yes, it is sometimes a choice, if some people want to spend the rest of their life having nothing and they want to just be poor. For people who are under the poverty level, they don't choose to be this way, it is just a case of bad luck. They want to get out of their situation, but don't know the proper way of getting out of what they are in. They need help and the right kind of assistance. While there are others that are in poverty because they put themselves there by their own personal mistakes. It is very sad.. But, I know, I would not want to be in poverty for the rest of my life! I know that there are many countries that are in a low state of poverty issues. They have little or no assistance to help them with food, clothing, medicine, shelter and love. It is very hard for them. I see brochures and letters of people all over the world that are in poverty. It is even happening right here is The United States Of America. Something has to be done in helping others who want something for their life. It is the recession period, but being poor has been going on for a very long time now. I pray that God will open up doors for many people that need assistance of any kind. The loss of a job or home can make a person be in a difficult situation as well. I hope that all of this can change very soon. Suffering because of poverty issues is not what God desires!
