Off Handed Comments - What do they tell us about a person?

When a person is talking in conservation and makes a slip it is some times referred to as a Freudian slip. A Freudian slip is often though to be the sub conscious coming through and it is what you really mean. For example you are speaking to an attractive lady and the subject of cooking comes up. You suggest that the two of you go and “make out” when what you wanted to say was “make an Omelet. When challenged you will usually say that is not what I meant or that is not what I said. Other times the slip will be something that seems innocent but many will argue is a view into what you are really thinking. Former President Bush (Sr.) once was asked by some one who he thought was going to win a football game. His reply was that xyz college was going to “kick a$$”. Many people were upset and said that this showed that he was a crud person. Senator Allen from Virginia, was reported to have used the term,”Mccaka” and many people said it was a racist term and he was branded a racist. Senator Lott from Mississippi once praised Senator Strom Thurmond from South Carolina, at his birthday party and lost a leadership position in the Senate and later he chose not to run for reelection. These examples were used to label these men as racist and crude by indicating that this is what they really thought. If we apply the same logic to the Comments that President made on the Jay Leno Show about his poor showing at bowling as being like the Special Olympics, what does this tell us about the thinking of President Obama?

It tells us that he is just as guilty as they were, and should be subject to the same treatment that they got.
