I am wondering if 1000mcg of Biotin is too much. If a female takes up to five small white tasteless vitamins like these, would it be safe? This vitamin is for Skin, Hair and Nails. If someone decides to take vitamins should they start off with a smaller dose than a larger one? I am taking vitamins from Spring Valley Biotin, 1000mcg. It has done wonders to my nails, My nails are growing long and strong.. My nail plate is very tough and strong. They also look very healthy too. It also has made my skin glow too. I noticed that since I have been taken them that I would break out with acne. But, the acne is not severe. Could it be that my dosage is too much for my body to handle? So, ladies, what is the best Skin, Hair and Nails vitamin to take? The pills that I am taking has nothing in it. No yeast or anything. It even has no taste to it. It has a plain taste. I threw the rest of the pills away this morning. If it is causing my face to break out with light acne, I don't want to take it any longer. But, overall, my skin looks very beautiful, it glows and it has a radiance to it. Please help point me into the right direction of a tasteless vitamin that has no side effects to it. Especially no side effects of acne. What do you think works great for a 30 year old female like me.
I understand that there may be no doctors here, but from experience, could you tell me what Skin, Hair and Nails vitamin that would work as the product says that it will with no weird side effects? I am also looking for something all natural, and not tested on animals.. Thanks for any suggestions!

Hi cream! I don't know anything about Biotin, but I sure
would like to find out! my nails used to always be long and
strong and for the past year they have started to break and
split and I never had that problem before. I wouldn't take
anything without consulting my doctor first. Right now I only
take a multi vitamin and wouldn't add anything without more
information. I will see my doctor on Thursday and mention it
to him and see what he says.

I always heard that taking pre-natal vitamins are good for you, even if your not pregnant, they're good for your hair and stuff like that I guess, I've never tried them before, just what I heard.

How much Biotin is too much?
Researching on Biotin and pimples (I skimped on my usual water intake) I came across a
thread on the long hair forum where posters were taking 2000mcg to 10000mcg of Biotin!
I just take 1000 mcg, so whats the recommended dosage if you want to grow your hair?
I haven't noticed a drastic increase with my hair at 1000 after 2 weeks on it.
May God bless you and have a great time.

I went to The Vitamin Shoppe once and the employee looked up the typical dosages. He said the dosage is 3-8 mcg. I read in other blogs people taking up to 5000mcg. You can ask your Dr or Pharmacist. They will also know of side effects.
