The only things i can think of is to put up thick curtains or surround your windows with egg cartons (apparently it works)...lol

I have never done this myself. But we did have a roomate that always complained we were being too noisy for him. I did find a good step by step article. Maybe this will help. http://www.ehow.com/how_2309604_soundproof-bedroom.html?ref=fuel&utm_source=yahoo&utm_medium=ssp&utm_campaign=yssp_art

When weather proofing we use fibre glass, a material with good insulation qualities. It insulates against heat loss and is a poor conductor of heat. When insulating against sound penetration we use the densest material available which would be Lead. Lead would be cost prohibitive, so we look for the densest material available for the least money. In North America there is a pressed board which comes in 4by 8 by 1/4 sheets. If it is made of a plastic material and is heavy and dense. It might do the job for you.

Not sure how big your room is, but it would probably be cheaper to by a pair of silencing/noise reduction headphones. At least that way if and when you decide to move, you'd be able to take them with you.
