Would you trust your best friend that much to leave him your house so he can take care of it while you are gone ? Let's say you are left for 1 year or so

My house is nothing to me compared to my best friend. A house can be replaced, he can not!

I do not understand? Are you saying a house, a non living object, is more important to you than your friends and family...

If I trusted my bestfriend to respect my property and my personal things, yes I would leave them to watch my house. I would hope that you could trust your bestfriend with this.

It isn't a best friend that you can't trust. I would trust my best friend with my sister's life...and she is the dearest living individual in my life. My house, in comparison is nothing.

You know at one time I would have said yes until my best friend of 23 years stabbed me in my heart and twisted the knife as it was pulled out...
