I just signed up for 4 newspapers.

I feel like I am losing control of it all. I feel this need to get a better supply of food in the house just incase we soon need to live off it. We have a good supply of grains and things like that, but the daily things we eat we are running short on. I found a deal for the paper and signed up today. My stomach is a bit twisted from the money I had to spend on the paper but I know I will save a lot more then that with the coupons that come with it.
Do any of you get multiple papers just for the coupons?

I usually only buy one newspaper a week, but if there's a certain coupon I want that was in the insert, I will buy more of just that particular insert or coupon online. The prices are usually $.35 for an insert or 10-15% of the value of the coupon plus shipping. I'm part of a website that I think could really help you out a lot. Everyone there is so nice and you can usually trade or buy for ANY coupons you need. The ladies (and a few gentlemen) on here have big stockpiles of stuff that they've gotten free or REALLY cheap with coupons, and a lot of people will even let you buy items from their stockpile! Here's my referral link:

Thank you. I will look into the site. It is always great to find a place with more couponers that are willing to trade.

I find that most coupons and vouchers are for items or brands which i wouldn't ordinarily buy. So in my case, buying them in order to use the discount coupons would be in most cases a false economy. If it worked for me though, I'd have no hesitation in getting a paper in order to get more coupons. If it saves money in the long run it has to be a good thing.
Could you maybe find someone who gets the papers but doesn't use the coupons though? Maybe the delivery person wouldn't mind telling you if any of your neighbours get those papers so you could ask.

Although the paper has a lot of coupons I use few of them. I check the sales that are going on and combine the savings. When I first started to use coupons I found that a lot of the things were to expensive. Now I shop smarter.
Last week I Post cereal was on sale and I had some coupons. I bought 6 boxes of post cereal and one store brand box. I ended up paying $6.96 and I also got a $5 store certificate so I am out $1.96 for 7 boxes of cereal.
I do ask my family members who dont use the coupons to save them for me but I still get as many as I can of my own. I do think with my shopping habits I will save money.

No, I get more free coupons online and don't have subscribe to the paper. Sometimes I will buy one on Sunday but not that often. There are many coupon sites online that you just print off your coupons and take to the store. Too on them you can choose which you want to print and you dont have to print them all.
Too if you have friends that use coupons have a coupon swap party, and let everyone bring over the ones they dont use and pass them around. It helps out everyone. Hope the papers work out for you. I just found I dont usually use that many out of there to pay for the paper.

We used to. We haven't been able to afford them for the last few years. _ Maybe that'll change. I dunno. We're probably gonna be torn between newspapers and magazines that have good information like (Yes! and Grit).
It still remains to be seen, though. Our city recently decided to send all its residents coupons for free for April...so that helps. I'm not sure if they'll do it again after April, but it's still cool.

We used to get free coupons in the mail but they stoped this month. I dont know why of how they ever got here but I liked getting them. That is part of the reason I got the papers, the coupons stoped. I hope your city decides to send you more.

I only buy 1 paper each Sunday, but at the store I purchase the paper at the lady that works there lets me take all the extra ones that haven't sold by noon since the store has to pay for them if they sell or not so last week I ended up with 5 copies. I also visit sites that sale individual coupons for really cheap so I can get multiples of the ones I can really maximize on. I have a blog that discusses ways to save money on groceries and other things and about frugal living in general. You can get the link from my profile if you want to check it out. It's new but I have been working hard on getting content put up so I recommend checking it out as well as the blogs in my blog roll which are about the same thing. I frequent many frugal living blogs that help me to find the best deals for my money using coupons and sales. Good luck!

I have the paper delivered to my house so I dont have to go to the store to get them. I also take my MIL's coupons when we visit her every other sunday. It all helps. My aunt gets 10 copies. She has a great stockpile of things.

As of right now, I don't get any newspapers delivered to my house, but I'm seriously thinking of doing what you did. I use coupons all the time and I think having the paper (even if it's just a Sunday subscription) delivered to my house would be great, and I would end up saving more than the cost of the paper itself by using the coupons on the things I buy the most.

I get one paper now and I think I save at least $20 a week. I just hope that will jump to $80 if I have 4 papers so I can cut the grocery bill and justify what I have payed for the paper. Time will tell I guess.
