check out the soaps that come in contact with your skin: laundry bars are drying for me. i use the powdered kind instead. some bars of bath soaps are too drying for my entire body and causes my palm to peel skin. try bath gels or body washes. cetaphil bar is also okay. or the regular johnson's soap with lactomellis is fine but i have to always use pure olive oil after using it. however, unlike with the strong types of soaps the olive oil remedies my skin peeling at the palm. stay away from lotions especially the ones that have fragrance in them. my palm peels here also. use coconut oil or the pure olive oil i mentioned. don't worry. you won't end up smelling like a salad. even the innocent dishwashing liquid is sometimes a culprit. proof to that is there are some brands of dishwashing liquids that are now made and labelled for sensitive skin.

Chapped skin are always easier to prevent than to treat. Here are some ways to do that: 1. Stay out of Hot Water. A good rule of the thumb is to avoid hot water, detergents, and strong household solvents. 2. Avoid Soaping. Because chapped hands occur when the natural oil is removed from the skin, you should not use a terribly harsh or alkaline soap. You're better off with a mild soap, preferrably with a little cream in it. 3. Put Moisture in the Air. Skin moisturizes itself from the inside out. If there's moisture in the air, not as much would be drawn out from the skin. Therefore it is a good idea to use a home humidifier. 4. Pamper Your Hands. When you put moisturizer to your face in the morning, immediately apply some to your hands. At night do the same too, that way it keeps your hands supple and help resist chapping. If ever you suffer from it, try to moisturize your palms and fingers with petroleum jelly. Do not wash too often. Avoid harh detergents with your bare hands. Use gloves when you can't avoid to touch this detergents. taking multivitamins can also help since Vit. E is good for the skin.
