Why is there no one in the US who has even heard muse?

I'm from malta and have heard of the band about two years ago, I like their song Starlight a lot. They're and English rock band so maybe that's why they are not famous in US yet.

I'm not from US but I first heard about them only recently. If I haven't seen the movie Haute tension I wouldn't know about this band.
