What is really going on?

I look at all the money thrown around in the past few months and I am really wondering....Does Obama really care about the economy? It seems to be he has his own agenda and the economy is not it. He is passing everything on the democratic wish list of social programs and increased government control and NOT focusing on the economy. In fact he is using it as an excuse to do it all. But when you really look at it....all these programs do nothing to turn the economy around and do everything to digg us into deeper debt and make the federal government bigger and more powerful (and making our economy situation worse). He has his own agenda and to heck with the economy. He is using the populations fiancial fears to tell them they NEED to spend all this money on all these programs that will really do nothing except cause the mass population to be MORE dependent on the government. Why are the masses buying this? Why isn't there more of an outcry against this? Our rights and freedoms, not to mention a ton of our money are vanishing. It is looking like to me that on a whole the population of this country is just sitting back and is going to allow this to happen. I never thought people would be this apathic. But I am starting to wonder if they ever WILL stand up in MASS and say "enough is enough". Washington is moving too fast to allow us much time. What do you think? Are the mass majority of the citizens of this country going to let this really happen?

If you look where the money is going, only the ones with money are getting the money while us regular folks get the bill. The banks that are getting it have no intention of loaning it out. Better to stick with the small banks that aren't seeing any. At least you know where they stand. When Bank of America got bail out money I just cringed. They are the most dishonest and deceitful bank around.

Hi lilwonders...It does seem that much has happened so quickly in this presidency and I too wonder if people have had time to process everything. How many people are actually informed and feel they can do something to stop the spending machine in Washington? How many people are just so mired in their own problems due to the economy and they see their smiling and laughing president saying that he is doing the best for them?

Also very well said. I would be one of those who is mired in her own problems and I can't keep up with what's going on. Even if I were to make more of an effort in staying "informed", I am so overwhelmed with the day to day living that I feel like it would serve no purpose.

The government is pushing every thing that Obama wants that it isn't even read by the congress or senate let alone John Q. Public having a chance to learn what is going so we can protest. Look what they did with that first so called stimulus package. Over a thousand page and just a couple of days to try to read it let alone study it and he just keeps pushing. He is keeping the public off balance with these small town meetings and youtube that are so much double talk who knows what is going on?

It really is looking that way, yeah. Will people let it happen? Yes, it's likely. Will they stand for much more after this? No...I'm not confident they will. We're getting toward the breaking point. There's only so much Bullcripe you can pull before the consequences come for you. The people standing and screaming all at once...is a matter of when, not if, imo. The REAL question though, the real kicker, the most depressing one is; will it be enough or will it spell the biggest fight America's ever had?

i think everything is going to take time, obama is trying to fix something that bush messed up , and he can not fix himself and when the house wont do what needs to be done to get the things going the way they are supose to be, i think the big problem with the banks is they are bailing out the big ones and a lot of them insted of doing what they are supose to do with it they are buying other banks that are in trouble i think they should of helped the little guys that really didnt do anything wrong and they just started to go under , the big banks are only using the money for vaccations and huge bonus thats why they keep needing bail outs,

I just want to ask, I didn't watch his Presidential speech, sorry about that because I forgot to watch it(I am from the Philippines). What were his promises and main objective to the U.S. country? I mean, I see a lot of this in the news and all, and some are not that good because it would cause a lot of problems to the U.S. country. I just want to know, what did he promise that gain a lot of votes and all. That now, a lot of people are complaining and no one couldn't say that they voted for him because of this and that. Hehehe. Just a curious student.

I talked and talked before the election, and now I feel sort of overwhelmed and helpless.. I'm hoping this will pass and I will at least email my representatives.. but truly, I don't think it will do me any good as our state went so much more liberal too.. no balance anymore here or there..

Lilwonders, The economy is just a smoke screen! Obama gets his orders from the "puppet master" who is someone in the upper crust elite of the WORLD, not just America! We, as a country, are in dire circumstances and it isn't from the economy!

have no fear, there are people out there willing to fight tooth and nail. Things have to get a lot worst- first - before those who are asleep can be woken up. This country has to fall apart first before action is to be had. Those who are still sleeping need to wake up first. Mark my words a Revolution is coming, and people that are in the government will have to account for their actions soon enough. WE THE PEOPLE will not allow this great nation to fall into line and march to the beat of a one world union. Brace yourself people, war is coming.

I wont really know much about us politics..so my contribution may be a little off the point..Obama shuld be given time, i believe his policies shuld be monitored as time goes along, who knows..something good might come out of the whole package he's got for americans.
