The music industry has lost one of its best 70s songwriters and singers. How many of you remember England Dan and John Ford Coley? Summer 1976's "I'd Really Love to See You Tonight" was by them. Dan Seals succumbed to mantle cell carcinoma, despite stem cell treatment aimed at ridding him of it. How many of you were fans of England Dan and John Ford Coley? Truly a sad day for music lovers. A sad year too. So far we have lost England Dan, and ELO's Michael "Kelly" Groucutt, who played bass with the group.

I just logged into my email and the headline, "70s country star passes away." I was saddened to find it was Dan Seals. He was, in fact, the lead voice on "I'd Really Love to See You Tonight." And you are right, there is no comparison to the music of then and now. I do hope, however, that, before I leave this life and transition into the next, the pendulum will swing more towards real, genuine, from the heart music again. Sadly, the folks that are most capable of showing how it's done are all aging and dying away.
