What happen if a human was raised by machines instead of other humans?

How will it affect that person's development. Has a human ever been raised by a machine and not by another human? If not then why aren't any babies taken care of by a machine instead of a parent or guardian?

I think it would definately affect their development. There wouldn't be that human contact that babies desperately need, there wouldn't be the bonding that normally comes from one human being caring for another human being, there wouldn't be alot of the feelings, emotions and insight that babies and children learn from those ppl around them as they grow. Well if that would happen, I think the human being who has been raised by machines would simply adapt to what the machines do. Let's take for example the story of Tarzan who was raised by the apes. He adapted to their culture. But with the case of machines it would be a little bit difficult in my point of view.

I do not think that there have been any real cases where this has happened. For one thing, I do not think we have enough advanced technology to develop a machine like this. Another reason is that the baby would be raised with serious mental flaws. A machine is not capable of offering caring and affection that a child needs to develop properly. A machine does not have a heart or a soul, so I find it very difficult to believe that this child would be raised with the proper feelings toward others. I guess in some cases, a machine would be a better caregiver than some of the parents out there.

I'm not really sure this idea should even be attempted. Children need love, affection, and attention. Machines do not have "souls" nor can they actually feel anything. Kids can read people so easily...they know if you love them or if you don't. They would not thrive in an environment like that. What would be the point of having children if you wanted to raise them by a machine? Sad day!
