A rather deep discussion for midnight!

Yes, it's midnight my time.. and I'm still awake and Mylotting! I was watching the movie, Twilight, yesterday, and there's a part in the movie where a native is explaining that his ancesters supposedly decended from wolves... Well this got me to thinking. See, my husband is part Mohawk, a native American tribe. He believes that this tribe has some sort of connection to wolves, I'm not sure exactly how, but he himself has always felt this deep connection to wolves. It's always been his favorite animal. I happen to have a deep connection to cats. I always have. My bio mom wasn't ever overly fond of any animal... but my foster mom shared my connection with cats. Yes it's late, and I'm tired... and it was late when I first started thinking about this... but I'm wondering if my love for cats is something learned through my environment, because I was raised by my foster mom, or if it's something that was embeded in me before I was born. Which leads me to think that perhaps my foster mom being in my life wasn't a coincidence. Hmmm? Do you have a deep connection to an animal? Do you think it's just coincidence that you have such strong feelings for this particular animal... or do you believe in the possiblity of some spiritual connection?

Hey kats! Yes I do believe that I might also have a deep spiritual connection to cats also! I don't know how or why but, I have this strange unnatural feeling towards them and have ever since I got my first cat! I had dogs when I was younger and I loved them, but not the way I loved my cats. So do believe that it's a possibility to be spiritualy connected to an animal as you described your husband's connection to wolves and your connection to cats. I love all animals, even more than people, but any animal in the cat family, even the large cats I am drawn to in a very strong way. Whenever I go to the zoo the Big Cat exhibits are the very first ones that I go to see!

I'm the same way. Big cats just feel so majestic to me. I'm usually in awe watching them.

I, too, have always been cat people. I don't "hate" dogs but I'd rather have ten cats than one dog. In a way I kind of have....I've had more cats throughout my life than I can remember to count but only one dog. But I digress... My aunt and my grandma on my dad's side are/were cat people too. There again, cats piled on top of cats over the years but only one dog ever. My dad likes cats, I don't know about being strongly connected to them *shrug* Cats are, originally, desert animals. Specifically Egyptian desert animals. To my knowledge I don't have any Egyptian ancestors, although I am Irish and Welsh on my Mom's side which might also mean we are a bit Moorish somewhere down the line, who knows. But maybe I was Egyptian in a past life.

I know nothing about my heritage... but that doesn't necessarily have to matter. Like you said, it could be past lives, or some other form of spiritual connection.

I think there is a spiritual connection for people with animals. I have never felt one though. I like animals though. I just don't feel a strong connection with any certain one. I tend to like them more when they aren't mine too lol.

I think it has to be a spiritual connection. I've got a lot of tarot cards, just cause I like using them more than Rorschach cards. When I lay them out, face down, and choose the card that feels right to me, I always choose one with a cat on it. It just feels right, even face down.
