People who migrate to another country & living there from so many centuries still support the country from where their ancestors had come. They eat what they get , they sleep , they earn being in the migrated country.
But in sports or games which we watch on TV they would still be supporting the country from where their ancestors had come.Is it right?
What would you do?

Im from Philippines and Im living in England now. In sports i watch in tv i do support England because in Philippines we don't familiar in football, what we have is basketball. But if there's a Philippine team i go for my ancestor country, coz many of people here are racist.

I am talking here about the matches between the country you came from & the country you are living now.

It is because they are treated as secondary citizens in the migrated country, they support their native place,I think. If the country they reside in,accept them and treat them as equals, then they would feel better and react differently. It is sad that, they are not accepted in the native place too as equals. When they have to return in a critical situation, they are called refugees and not fellow countrymen.

Ganesh to a certain extent I agree with your points but however if you are not treated as equal you better leave that place.

Hi krupesh!
I have been living in Italy for over thirty years now and I feel more Italian than English after such a long time but the point you raise is a huge dilemma
When there is an international football (soccer) match and both England and Italy are playing I am torn in two
I recently have supported the Italian team more often than the English one because the way England play is not how I remember that it used to be at all. Something must be wrong if the coach there is now an Italian too
