Creamie and I at the Vets last night, he stayed. He's not well at all.

I think he should have been kept when I brought him to the vets and told them he was throwing up and couldn't keep food down before. But while he was on anti-biotics, he did very well. Took him off and what a mess! However, I think some of it was the antibiotics. He has a yeast infection, bacteria, so far from tests. His bladder hurts him, his best friend between his legs is purple, his butt is sore, and he has diarhea. No temperature. They're rehydrating him. Going to run tests, see what kind of food he can keep down and keep from running out the back end. I've tried a couple kinds of food now, but it doesn't seem to matter. Yes, I know, transition slowly. Well I don't know what he was fed originally. I had him on the same food as my cat, but that didn't do well. Transitioned slowly to the food that he will get when he lives at PetSmart. We'll see what the vets figure out for him. They'll need a special note for PetSmart for special food if that is what they want and I'll probably have to donate it. I think he'll need special food and probably some kind of medication all his life. I think Creamie came to me too late. His eyes seem fine, but one isn't right. Either he has permanent damage or he had a concussion because that eye doesn't respond right to light. I wish I had put him to sleep. He's going to cost another 4 hundred and I don't think he'll ever be right. But no matter what, he still wants to cuddle and be held. He even was a good sport when they gave him a bath. All Creamsycle wants is to be loved.

This discussion brings tears to my eyes. How sad. I know the expense you have gone through to try to keep him. What did the blood work show? You are such a good person to take this cat in and try to nurse him back to health. You can praise yourself for what you've done. You're a good lady and I am glad to have you on my list of friends and follow your very interesting discussions. I wish the best for Creamie.

Both are awful but to have at the same time has to be really bad. Poor kitty.

He's home now and he seems to have some energy for the first time since I have had him, but this does explain why he's mostly a happy (to be with people and petted) blob, doesn't it?

Cat version of IBS-irritable bowl syndrome, but could be a false positive they said. Also uppper respiratory infection.

Thanks, I wish someone who was taking care of him had brought him to a vet before he ended up with me. He might not have so many things wrong with him. I need luck. Thanks again and take care.

again, good luck, I had an FIV cat with a gapping wound in his neck that later became diabetic, but he was a really great cat, wonderful personality - I hope Creamie can heal enough to find someone who can love him

I had a feline luk pos. cat who was really healthy for 2 or 3 years, then he started to look rattie. I wanted to take him to the vets, but he got away from me, took off into the woods to die. Most of my cats have decided to live free and die free. I honor that and some day instead of a nursing home, I want to do the same.
