what's the most underrated but useful clothing item for you?

for me, it's got to be the cycling shorts and the tights. i mean. people say not everyone looks good in them. but for me, one only needs to look at celebrity pictures to know that they're good as jeans. they're easy to pack and very versatile. put on a tunic shirt on it and it would look casual. put a blazer / coat over it, and provided the tights is black, you have a formal outfit. you wear tights to bed when it's cold and you'll be warm sans feeling anything because it is second skin. wear the cycling shorts under a dress and you'll not worry that much on how you're sitting. wear the cycling shorts during hot nights and it's second skin again. what could be more versatile than that? not to mention it's not expensive compared to jeans.
