What would you do...if you found five hundred dollars?

Its not in a wallet, its just sitting by itself on the sidewalk and no one else is around. Would you make an effort to find the owner? Spend it right away? Donate it? Do something else?

The first thing I would do is ask God to help me find the owner. The second thing I would do is try to find the owner. The third thing I would do is report it to the police. If the money still came back to me, I would go back to God and ask Him what I should do with the money. This may seem a little weird, but it has worked very well for me whether it is found money or worked for money.

Not 500 dollars, but money. I cannot ever recall not finding the owner so the money amount does not stick with me.

FINDERS KEEPERS hahaha frankly i'll keep it, but if i find something that i of much larger amount like $20,000.00 then i will make a point of it to find the owner of that money by reporting it not to the police station but rather in a radio or television station.

I would try to find the owner first. If it didn't work, I would declare it to the police. There were only these choices for me. According to the law in my country, as well as to my morality, spending others' money without permission is illegal, no matter what the aim is personal or charitative.

I would probably take it to the police as that's a sizeable amount. A similar thing happened to me over the holidays I found a gift card for $250 in the bottom of a shopping cart. I turned it in to customer service of my employ and hoped it would not be claimed. I know that is bad of me but times are tough everywhere ya know and I would of bout necessities like diapers, groceries ect with it. But thru the miracles of technology our store called the store the card was issued for and they cancelled out the gift card and were going to reissue one to the rightful owner. Wich I thought was nifty that they were able to do that and the person was not out the money. So I guess I did a good thing instead of doing "finders keepers" though I could of used it myself.

I would put it in the bank and leave it there, or I would use it to pay off some debt...

500 dollars. its a lot of money. I would look around if somebody looks like they have lost something. if not, then I would just keep it. there is no way of telling who is the rightful owner and for sure if you go and ask some shrewd person will tell it is his/hers and that might be a lie. if it is just money, keep it and enjoy it. that is if you did not see it fall out of somebodies pocket, then please be a good girl and return it. :)

500 dollars....my first reaction would be wow, but i wouldn't think of owning it. I will try to find its owners first. If no one claims it I will donate it...i don't think the money will be safe in anyone else's hand before the owner finds it. so i believe donating it to the less fortunate wud be a better option
