Diabetic? Do your shoes fit properly?

Diabetics need to check their feet daily. Keep an eye out for redness or blisters. Diabetics tend to heal slower than others and also if the wound does not heal it can lead to further complications.

Good points. I am diabetic and foot care is very important. Many diabetics do not pay attention like they should, until it is too late. Great to put up a reminder like this one.

I used to work as a diabetic shoe fitter and so many people would come in with various problems. One thing that diabetics often do is wear shoes that improperly fit. They are too tight, rub, cause skin breakdown.

I wish more people who had diabetes would realize the importance of good foot care. While in the healthcare business I would see so many that wore shoes that were too tight or too loose, and caused problems.
