I use windows xp and heard that windows vistas needs a lot of Ram and even occupies more space on hard disk.I am very happy and satisfied with Windows Xp.Then what is the need to migrate to Windows Vistas. What is your choice?

Im using xp. There is no need for vista or win 7. Dont think that just becasue a new os came out you need to purchase it. Only if you are like putting together a pc from scratch, consider using vista. Or if you are buying a pc from like a store with preinstalled os and its vista, then stick to it. There is no need to upgrade.

i like xp because it takes less boot up time and works fast .VIsta is also good but it requires updated softwares to be loaded.for example iam using sql2000server for my software applications over winxp .If i go for vista it wont support sql2000 server.Like this vista has many software compatability issues. We have to load all upgraded versions of softwares like office 2007,sql2005,dotnet2005 etc....All other lower versions it wont support. If you have high memory of around1gb and intel dual core processor and 160gb hdd you can load vista and can experience it.If you load vista over lesser configurations system will become very slow and it takes even around 5 minutes to boot. One thing is you should have vista supported antivirus also.

I used both of them I think Windows Vista is better than XP, It's really good in memory managment. Windows XP sometimes crashed and sometimes it works with low speed. But I used both of them, Vista on my PC and XP on my laptop computer.

I have both Vista and XP and i used Vista more often since my XP version always crash after around 2-3 hours, which usually annoyed me like hell when i'm playing a game halfway.

hii there, both operating system are quite well and have quite few similarities in terms of operations. actually it totally depends upon you needs to choose any one from them, if you are a normal user and just want to make your operations quite easy then you just go for windows xp but if you need some kind of security and extra graphics then you can go with windows wista, but it is also true that it occupy a lot of memory which can slow down your system's performance.

I used xp for a long time and switched over to vista as my laptop had come installed with it. The issues i have faced are many and solving takes more time. I would recommend that you stick with xp and wait for the new windows os to release.

From what I've heard, XP. someone told me they tried vista and had problems. They reinstalled XP and the problems went away. I don't even have those. I still have Windows 2000 professional.

I chose Windows XP SP2. If you have a 1 gig ram and dual core processor in your tower box, it really maximize the system's performance. If you have vista, 1 gig is not enough to run on higher programs because in the first place vista consume more ram then what's left will be for the current programs running. For me, I have experienced more troubleshooting and repair with windows xp professional service pack 2. I did a dual boot with hard disk. I installed vista ultimate and xp . I compared the performance of the two operating system and found out that it is more faster when using xp. Well this is my opinion only. Happy Mylotting!!! hehehehe

Hello there deepika201,i and many other people i no like vista only because of its looks the nice metalic black with everything else makes it look awesome but the bad thing about vista is it drains alot of memory therefore slowing down your system. I currently have Windows XP and one of my friends really liked how vista looked so i told him to install xp and just download a theme pack which you could find on the internet in alot of places for free and that way he doesnt get the draining of vista but gets what he likes the looks of vista cheers happy mylotting

I used both XP and Vista. As vista is more graphical needs more RAM than compared to XP.As we are addicted to XP we feel a little bit tough to migrate to new OS.And more Vista's system configuaration is also high so many of us don't to spend again on the hardware,so many of us are still sticked to XP only.I too stick for XP.

Preffer only winxp for old systems. It is not better to preffer vista for oldpcs or laptops because they are with less memory.Only load vista in the pcs which are coming with preloaded vista.Vista requires minimum1gb ram and high speed processor.

Windows XP is far much better than Vista...at least for person computer. The biggest problem with Vista is its slowness. It makes your computer slow..the booting also took a bit more time than XP...I am using XP and will keep on using this, hope the next version of Windows will be better and could be worthy of replacing vista.........
