Shake n Bake from scratch? We prefer shake n bake instead of frying. I use it for chicken, turkey, pork, and fish. But in this day and time, something as simple as shake n bake can get expensive, but I know it can't be to expensive to make. Unfortunaly I'm not very good at disecting ingredients as to how to make store bought from home. So, if anyone out there knows how to make shake n bake please let me know.

I understand, we are all trying to pinch pennies wherever we can but still want our food to taste good. One of my favorite sites is Robbies copycat recipes. Here is the link for his shake and bake http://recipes.robbiehaf.com/K/476.htm. Hope that you enjoy it and you will find many more great copycat recipes there.

Well, you could purchase bread crumbs or make you rown by putting the bread into a processor. The season the bread with salt, pepper and some garlic seasoning and a little hot pepper if you want. Then brown the breadcrumbs in the oven and when they are slightly brown let them cool before using. You should make a batch of this and keep it in a container so tha tyou have enough for the next time that you want to make this dish.

I think you can make your own easily and cheap with dried bread. Dry out your bread and crunch it up. I keep a ziplock bag and refill it as the bread dries out, ( when the bread gets old I toast it to dry it the rest of the way ). When I go to use it I just season it like I want it to taste. Add garlic salt, italian seasoning, paprica, pepper or what ever. Then just bake like you would normaly. This is also a lot healthier then to fry it.
