I am not meaning to be racist at all but it was just a thought. I have a coworker that says he is from the Phillipines however his skin is not very tan. So, I was just wondering, do all Asia islanders have dark shaded skin?

My grandmother is from the Philippines, and you would never know it to look at her. You have to remember one thing about the Philippines: many moons ago, the Spanish had control of the country. A lot of Spaniards moved to the country and settled in. Then the US had control of the country. A lot of Americans could live there with their American passports. My great-grandfather was from the US and moved there with the military. Because of this, my family, although they are from the Philippines, look as white as an Scandinavian. However, I can't speak for all Asian countries or island. But the closer they are to Australia, the more "whites" you will see. Not a racist question at all... you were simply curious!

This was the answer that I was looking for. The history of the island has to do will a lot of the demographics of the people. Thanks also for the information about your family history, a real time example.
