Do people get more responses on their disucssions if they have more friends?

I have experienced a problem, and it has to do with the number of my friends on My-lott, since I am only a novice on Mylott, I don't have that many friends and to top it all off, most of the friends I have, have been inactive for a lot of time, (but the rest have been kind enough to respond to my discussions!) which results to a reduction in the supply of responses! So, I have made a new theory for people to be getting the advantage of, "People recieve more responses if they have a large amount of friends"
Do you agree?

It pays to have many supportive active friends and not just friends. I have so many friends here and could not even count but only around 20 are supportive. Yes you will surely get respondents if you get supportive friends but to have such you must also be supportive with them and develop a good relationship. Also we also need to post good topic too. Even if we have good friends if our topic is senseless or will not interest them, they will not be capable of answering the post even if they wanted to.

Since, discussions started by friends are shown on the home page so there are chances to get more response if you have more friends....however, at the end of the day, it is not friends, but the interesting discussions with a flavor of luck that decide whether your discussion will get more responses or not........

to an extent yes. BEcause the probability of people viewing your discussions would be higher as it'll be shown in the homepage.
so if you have more friends, your discussion would reach more people and hence more people would be able to reply to it.

Offcoarse i agree -having friends is an advantage.But friends aren't always necessary.If your discussion is catchy and interesting ,without doubt,people will always respond to it.As for me i have only 2 friends(thinking of making more now) yet in the discusions i've started,i've receved a fair amount of responses.
