My grandmother was a great believer in Spring Cleaning & Cleaning to prepare for the Winter ahead also. She loved for me to come over to help her Spring clean, for I really felt like I was her favorite granddaughter. She told me I was the only one who would come over & clean up what ever I was told to do & not be noisy & ramble in her things. Also I would put her things back in order. When I dusted her furniture, ever what she had in a certain position I would make sure it was placed back just like she had it just it was cleaner. She said it is healthy to do Spring cleaning for it made your home germ free. She would also let up all the windows & air everything out. We would wash all the curtains & hang them out on the clothes lines to dry. My grandmother was a great woman. She was Native American a Cherokee. I don't believe she knew just how smart she really was, for she was beyond her time. She also loved to use Clorox & Lysol.

ur words show that u loved her a lot, and yes older people had reasons for what they said and did, there are many things that we can adopt from them, folow them and value them throughout our lives and ofcourse pass them on to the next generation.

Yes, I loved my grandmother very, very much. She might of thought no one ever listened to her words but I hung on every word she spoke to me. She never knew it but I thought she was so very beyond her time. She could take your measurements & make anything out of a catalog that you wanted her to make for you. She measured my puppy's head & made her a bonnet & when my daughters were born she made them one as well. Her hands was so very blessed & gifted.

My grandmother also made her own quilts by hand. She hand stitched every one. She was awesome!!! I wished I was half the woman my grandmother & mother was, for they both had blessed hands. My mother for cooking & my grandmother for her sewing. My mother there was nothing she could not cook or bake from scratch.
