imagine this: one day, you are walking to work or perhaps to the grocery. you then see someone beating up a dog mercilessly, while the dog cringes and cries out in pain and fear. what is the right thing to do? do you interfere and try to put the animal out of harm's way? or do you mind your own business? perhaps there is a "right" thing to do... but do you do it? or would you rather stay on the safe side? have you ever called an animal welfare institute to report animal abuse? lastly, are you aware of any animal welfare programs/ institutes in your area? do you think it's necessary to know of these? if you do know, please tell us that program/ institute. other mylotters in your area will be more aware if they happen to live in your area. ^_^

Hi sandra, Yes we have a lot of animal protection scntres here where I live and if I caught someone ill treating a dog I will call the police and the animals centre (RSPCA) on my mobile and then try to stiop this person by taking the dog away from the person, then when the police comes I will beat the sh*t out of this person, I hate anyone ill treating any animals because these people are cowards and if they are ever caught, they should be jailed. good thing that in some countries, there are animal cops. animals have a better chance at an abuse-free life in those countries. ^_^ hopefully, more and more countries get to care for their animals...

if u spot someone doing something cruel to an animal take the animal out of harms way then kick the crap out of the person to see how they like it. then u call the animal shelter or the ploice and they will take care of everything.

lol, mdawson ^_^ i could only wish my country will be as pro-active as possible with animal protection. we are way behind when it comes to protecting helpless creatures, even children. we have a long way to go, but hopefully the future isn't bleak... ^_^

If I saw that I think I would defeniatly interfere. Normally I am a very shy person--but I have my limits...children and animals. If I saw a child or an animal being beaten as you described I would defeniatly interfere. I watch Animal Cops and Animal Precincts and sometimes they get acutal video and/or picture evidence of someone abusing an animal and I just think to myself--man I wish I was there to stop it! I've never reported any abuse because I never had too. I've never encountered an animal (or child) in an abusive situation. I dont know of any places near me right off the bat. but I've seen animal control trucks driving around, so if I needed to call someone I could look them up in the phone book and I know there'd be some.

i too don't like to stick my nose in someone else's business, but abuse of any sort (may it be of women, children, or animals) is a different story. i'm already a member of several animal rights protection groups, and like you, i won't hesitate to tell on the abusers. i'll even take videos and pics, as my cellphone has a video and camera. abusers, beware. hehe.

I ... stand for the animal and against the 'animal' that's hurting him, of course. I don't accept brutal people around me, so I have to take position. Yes, I do whatever to report the incident, that human doing that also needs help. brutal behavior does not fit into ... normal. So I think we should all do something to help both, human and animal.

I love dogs. I could not bare to see this. I would shout, call for help and hope there are other people around so that the dog could be taken out of this situation and into safety.

omg, I would go over and slap the person who was harming their animal, and i would take the animal to my house and look after it, and take it to the vets to see if its alright.

This is one thing I can't stand. I would definately call the cops. I would also say something to the person. I'm usually with my boyfriend and I know he would step in and stop the person beating the animal.

Hello, When I was much younger, I did witness someone mistreating a cat. It was a very good friend of my boyfriend's at the time. It didn't matter to me at all. I did give it a second thought, I yelled at him to stop being cruel to that cat, or maybe I should be just as cruel to him. He did stop, but GOD knows how many others he mistreated. Please have a heart to at least say something, let the person know that people do not appreciate that kind of behavior. Lets hope that whether it be an animal or a human, that you at least say something.
