are you from bicol? my family roots are from bicol. have you been to Caramoan island? I heared that it's beautiful there. The clear water, the fine sand, the corals. however, the fisherman there are accustomed to use dynamite fishing so some of the corals there are destroyed. how sad.. =(

I have been to Bicol but that was 2002, 7 years ago I was there and I experience the life in Naga City that is the capital of Bicol Region, Philippines. The people are friendly, we went to many beautiful mountain views, we went swimming to that certain place in Naga City where it has a falls. The food is great especially "bicol express" It is very tasty and made me sweat. I missed a lot the province. Wish to be back there once more.

I will be visiting Bicol next month and I am excited because I will meet my best friend who decided to reside in the place. I want to see the Mount Mayon for its spectacular view. I want to see the beautiful landscape done by the volcano itself. I believe that it was a town ruined by the volcano's eruption. Thanks for this post.

very much that's because my father was born and grew up in Albay. i had been to Bicol several times and yes it's really a beautiful place. but despite that, the province needs improvement...a lot. there are very few establishments in Bicol and i don't know what's the provincial government is doing to make it a progressive province like Laguna. the province is abundant to so many crops especially coconut and the famous Pili nuts. hope that someday, Bicol would be like Cebu, or much better Metro Manila.

Yeah I know the place because I was born there and I grew up in Naga City. You're right Mayon Volcano is only one of the many attraction in Albay Province. In Sorsogon is their Geothermal hot spring and the Butanding. In Cam. Sur is the beach where the Survivor French Edition was held and shoot with matching white sand beach. And also in Pili where foreigners come for a competition in a sport its like a surfing. In Naga City, there is the so called Consosep in Mt. Isarog.

Yeah Bicol is where my mom grows. I've been there a couple of years ago and I've been missing the mango tree in front of the house which I use to climb to get and eat delicious mangoes :D I remember also my favorite dish named "tinuktok", a spicy dish made of coconut and other spices and its so delicious to be "ulam" on rice. Hopefully I can have vacation there as soon as I have money to get there.

Being a Bicolano myself I am very much familiar with the place. I love the place and I am happy that Bicol is slowly being recognized and developing as a tourist destination. One place is the Caramoan Peninsula which is developing now as the next best place. Being a very small coastal area before it is now developing into a good tourist destination and has even been used by foreign shows such as Survivor reality shows. In Cam. sur there is thios place where they say the famous Wakeboarding area can be seen. This place was not as developed as before but now it is being visited by many foreign visitors just to experience the wakeboarding there. I am really proud that my province is also doing their best to make the place attractive to other visitors.

Hi Gladys, I've been to Bicol once and I love the place. We had a pilgrimage there and went to visit churches. We had a perfect view of Mayon at Daraga church and I took a picture of it though I don't have the pics here right now lol so I can't upload it. hmmm... I've seen Mayon at every angle I think hee hee and the view is really nice. We went to Cagsawa, too, and saw the part of the church buried by Mayon's eruptions many years ago...
