what happened to the girl before ziva?

it's only now that i got to fall in love with ncis. it's a little slow-paced compared to my other favorite cis but this show makes it more relaxing to watch.
however, i noticed that it was a different girl that they have in that show before ziva. what happened to her? i was about to catch a part of it in you tube when i lost it.

I have only seen a few episodes before Cote de Pablo joined the cast as Ziva, but I really like the show now and Ziva is my favorite character. I sometimes get a little tired of Dinozzo and Michael Weatherly who plays him, but then I have read some about the actors history and just don't care much for him. Abby is also an interesting and fun character and I like he a lot, too.

I love Michael Weatherly so I was just wondering - what did you read about in his history that has turned you against him? Not trying to start anything - we all have opinions. It's just, from everything I've read about him, seen in interview and heard on radio, he is a really down to earth, humorous guy who everyone seems to like. Just wanted to know if there was something out there that I hadn't heard or read - curious.

dinozzo is a little viewer friendly now, believe it or not. they did a lot of character re-imaging before ziva came and i think before the show was somehow turned over to another head or something like that:
a) gibbs - he was cool, quiet and tough now. before he was ruthless (uncool), loud and tough.
b) dinozzo - was just a little pain in the neck. now, he's a lot more than that. he's really a pain in the neck which contrasts well with his looks and the personalities of ziva and mcgee.
c) ducky - he's a little talkative now with samples of crimes...
d) abby - i think she had a little acting lesson or two (no offense) but there's more personality to her well-loved goth image now.

thank you for the info. frankly, i see reruns of the show online and i have to admit that ziva livened up the team. of course mcgee joined and i think there was somebody else behind the camera that took over the show. it's now a better one.

I like Ziva. I like the playfulness between her and Tony. I like how she's always messing up the little sayings. And, I like how she's nice and sweet, but can also kick some butt.

You are sooo right! I would love to be as beautiful as she is - all girl - and then be able to kick major league butt. I am a true Tiva fan who can't decide whether she wants those two to get together or keep the flirting thing going. Sometimes I'm afraid that putting them together would ruin the whole effect, you know?
I love her little messed up sayings as well and it is always funny to hear Tony or McGee correct her. Kate was okay, but as Tony pointed out to Ziva when talking about Kate, "She was kinda puritanical." Ziva not only rises to Tony's challenges, she beats him a lot of the time.

I inherited the first 4 seasons of NCIS and have now watched all of the first 3.
I really liked Kate, tho my client (who I'm watching them with) thought she was a bit to feminist. However, having said that, I also like Ziva a lot, it would've been fun to see Kate and Ziva getting even on Tony, oh well...
Of course, I can see why Abby didn't like her, but she doesn't warm well to other females that she think might get between her and her relationship with Gibbs or McGee, she can be a real green-eyed terror when it strikes her fancy. Now, at the end of the first season with Ziva, she's finally starting to warm to her.
I thought it was pretty funny in the first episode of Hiatus (where Gibbs gets injured in the explosion) how the Director had to call Conda Leesa Rice to get in to see Gibbs and Abby just had to dig thru her purse to scare the nurse to get let in.... something about the bones falling out seemed to weird her out.

Even though it was already answered I'll still post...I wanted Kate to be there longer than what she was but apparently there was a conflict between her contract and the show or she had another thing going on, at least that's what I read, but Ziva's cool too.

kate is pretty. she has more of that woman physicality that ziva doesn't have. peace 
. but i like ziva better. the show was livened up with her presence and her supposed to be tomboyish stunts that leaves dinozzo mouth opened!
