Driving in Fog

We were coming home today from a little day trip and it was so foggy out. We could only see the car in front of us driving. It looked like the road was just going to end. Luckily my husband was driving or else we'd probably still be driving. Do you mind driving when it's really foggy outside?

nah driving is just driving, tho annoys me when people dont slow down for the conditions, especially in the fog you still get idiots trying to over take you.

I know what you mean. Those are the types that think they can drive in two feet of snow too.

Fog can really be treacherous. I think that the worst experience I had with fog was driving on the Blue Ridge parkway at night. It was very foggy and we couldnt see the hand in front in of our face let alone any other cars. It was a very scary experience. I really did not like it.

I would not drive in the dark when it's raining, much less in a fog. It's too dangerous. Cheers!!!

I hate to drive in the fog, we have a lot of foggy days and if I can I stay home. Not only can't you see but there are to many fools out there without their lights on and going as fast as they would if they could see.

Makes you wonder how they can even see.

As annoying as fog lights are when people have them on at night and it isn't foggy they are life savers when it is foggy. At least you can see the vehicle. I hate driving in fog and I live right on the banks of a river so we encounter it regularly. We have fog lights on our truck that we use when it is foggy. It doesn't help us see that much better but it helps others see us! LOL

I hate driving in it if it's really thick and I'm not familar with the road. I have been in some really thick fog and was very slow and uncomfortable.

It always seems to be on an unfamiliar road, doesn't it?

No, I don't like driving when it is really foggy out. I would rather avoid it at all costs, if possible. There was one time, some years ago, that I had driven in some dense fog. It was late at night (about 1 in the morning) and where I had gone there were no street lights for miles. I could barely see in front of me. I was terrified, but I had to get home, so I kept on driving, hoping the whole time that no one would ram into me or I ram into someone in front of me. Fortunately I got home safe and sound. Since it was so late at night I was the only one foolish enough out on the road. I haven't driven in such dense fog since, thank goodness. Though I do get stuck driving in fog every now and then.

not really. we have quite a few days per year when it's total fog,and it's extremely dangerous. i remember driving across the bridge with my dad the one time, and it was nerve rattling to say the least.

Hello Shar. I don't drive for I have no car of my own, but I do care how the driver drives in the foggy weather. I wish to always sit in a safe car with a careful driver driving the car for safety. Take care.

Driving in fog can be really dangerous. I was on a trip when I was in college with some friends to New Orleans and we were on a road with no shoulders when it got very foggy. We were in the right lane and the only way could stay in the lane was my friend has his head out the driver's window looking almost straight down for the lane separation line and I had my head out the pasenger side looking almost straight down watching the side of the road. The semi-trucks kept blowing by us at way too high a speed in the left lane and we though we were going to get run over from behind any second but there was no place to pull over. Finally we came to a truck stop and managed to pull in there and wait for conditions to get better. It was one of the scariest driving experiences I have ever had.

Not really. I'm just waiting for a guy with a hockey mask to come out of the darkness.

I hate it, usually I will pull over and wait it out if I can...or call work and tell them I will be late.

I hate driving in the fog and have only done it a few times. Regrettably it was foggy as I was going up and down a mountain and I was so scared. Blessings

I have had to drive in the fog out in the country on curvy winding roads before when I could barely see in front of me. At least it was out there where there are never very many other people on the road. I was driving pretty darn slow.
