"similar discussions" panel on the right while viewing a discussion

This is the first time I saw it. When I opened a discussion (regarding Backstreet Boys), the page looked all weird because the discussion and the responses were all squished on the left side of the window and 3/4 of the page (oriented to the right) was a "Similar Discussion" panel - the same kind of panel that we see when we post new discussions and then similar discussion appear at the bottom.
Have you seen it yet?

It has been there for AGES but unless the discussion is tagged, nothing will appear. There were none on the right when I went to answer this because there are no tags on your discussion. I will now add some and other discussions will appear like magic

it took me a while here in mylot to see it. i think i was way past 500 posts already and those similar discussions at the side are a big help to help me meet my quota of 15 posts everytime i visit here
