Are you willing to expose to another culture or just stay where you are?

Hi,today I got an email from a friend moved to Japan just a weak ago. He's feeling like himself being isolated from the whole world. Maybe it's a little bit difficult to take things we have never done ever before. So are you willing to expose youself to another culture and challenge more? Or just stay where you are? thanks

Well, i hadn't met a Russian yet but i think Americans are so cool. I kinda like culture there, you know, which based on some combination of their values and those of the traditional culture.I like the pluralism there.

I would say where ever you go adopt the culture, but not beyond the limits. I just dont like being the odd man out in other country. http://www.funphotoeditor.blogspot.com

It's totally normal to feel like an outsider in a foreign country, but you should take advantage of such a wonderful opportunity to learn about different people. Try new things and open up to other cultures, it will truly change your perspective on life. You don't have to change who you are, just be open to different experiences and learn as much as you can.

I would not mind going to a different place with a different culture. I would love to learn about new places and maybe learn the local dialect. Cheers!!!

Dialects are so funny, but i wouldn't like to challenge them. You know, they are more more complicated than we can imagine. If just some greeting words, that's OK.

the world is so large and i want to expand my horizons not just career by any chance but with different cultures as well. same as your friend, i would like and actually, Japan is on top of my list to study and learn their culture, i am very a Japan addict mostly because i love and a fan of Japanese anime. i made a constant effort studying Nihonggo (Japan's language), though its tough, i am very much determined. my sister as well love Japanese culture like me, but she had taken Nihonggo earlier than me, she already know how to write and speak and even write Kanji.

Well, the only way I would find myself moving to another State, let alone another Country would have to be God wanting me to move there. Personally even though I might get Frustrated with my situation at times, I cannot imagine myself living anywhere else. And since it is sometimes hard to talk with New people and such I would find it hard to meet New people as well. So for now I stay where I am and just do with what God has given me as well.

I love exploring and learning from other culture's. I'm just adventurous like that, I guess. Must be something about the fact that I've never been out of my own state and have had a few chances to observe the small cultural differences that vary depending on the PART of my state I'm in at the time. It goes between subtle to prominant, and it's just...fascinating. I always itch to travel...staying put makes me, um. itchy? xD

I felt the same way when I first moved here in US, it's totally different from the cultures and people I grew up with. I actually got depressed in my first months, it was really hard for me since this is the first time I moved so far away from home. But being exposed to a different culture is a very valuable experience, you'll learn a lot of things, you'll be more open with things that you never got used to, and also meeting different kinds of people is the coolest thing that you'll ever do in your life, it's just so much fun. That's why right now, I am so motivated to tour around different countries, although right now I still cannot afford it, but still I am looking forward and doing things so I could fulfill that goal of mine. :)

it is really difficult to manage with some other culture of a different country. i am from india and we have brought up in our culture and we have come to germany and we find here that there are things which are entirely different and we havent seen also and we dont do that. but as the days pass we try to adjust and then later it would be comfortable. itis nice to be in our home country and it is also nice to go around the world and know more and feel the difference and also enjoy it. i really like visiting places and explore and roam around to see the speciality of the place but it is sure that for a few days or months atleast we miss our family, place and food and those who are homesick it is very difficult to stay for them.

I know, it would be very hard at first but i know i'll get through with it in no time.. you know, i like challenges, i like learning new things and I know those things will help me become a better person.. If given a chance, i'd like to migrate n the US or Hongkong.. =)

I honestly prefer to expose myself to other cultures. Learning is a part of life and interacting is simply a challenge. No man is an island neither is man a dog that requires a trainer to tame him. Man was made with the skills of socializing for him to learn and interact. And it's always good to know that man lives in a world of both wonders and disasters. Man is never made to live in paradise alone. I honestly wish your friend a good luck. I advise him to find a friend that can help him explore the new world. It's always good to know that you are not alone.

I think so. Basically, i think every country or race is friendly. people haven't realized it just because they didn't really get a chance to know them.

I have been thinking about converting to Islam and one of the things is stopping me is I am afraid I will not be able to adapt to the different culture.

Yes I would do it without hesitation! Sometimes we need a reboot on our life to see the beauty of what we have. Asian culture is something that I would like to try in a near future, especially the samurai way of living.

I really do not care at this point in my life. I am obviously very comfotable in my current culture, but am by no means opposed to learning about another culture. There is so much that we can learn from other cultures, but at the same time i would be hesitant because I wouldn't not be aware of all little things that make us so different and would not want to offend anyone.
