Hi Bride-to-be's!!! :) I am in the middle of a dilemma here as to what i should be doing, where to start and how i cna make this day a very special one for me. I really wanted to be able to pull this wedding of greatly, nicely.. with everyone having no bad comments on my day but pure praises... but i need to do this on a tight budget as well. Anyone who can share links as to the preparation itself.. any comments and inputs on how to make everything really beautiful... for those who are also bride to bes... we can exchange notes; doesnt matter where we all are.. ideas are all welcome. for the Filipinos... you may also share venues and churches in Metro Manila that are nice... i want to walk on a long aisle... thanks!! :D

First of all, I think you need to set a budget. It is better to have a budget in mind so that you wouldn't get carried away with the preps and spend for things that you cannot afford. The worst thing is having a lot of credits right after the wedding. Once your budget is set, you can proceed doing the following: 1. Sign up for Weddings at Work (www.weddingsatwork.com). This e-group is composed of Filipino couples preparing for their weddings. You can learn a lot from this support group. 2. Set a wedding date. 3. Book a church. 4. Book a venue. 5. Book a caterer (you may need to check if the caterer is accredited by your venue). 6. Make a list of the members of the entourage. Inform them as soon as list is completed. 7. Book a photographer and videographer. You would want to capture your wedding and you need good suppliers for these. 8. Make a list of to-do and book/prepare them one by one. Book your wedding gown maker, your invitations supplier, cake maker, etc. It is better if you can check magazines for these to get a better guide. I got married in 2004 and I used to be a wedding coordinator, so, I know a lot about preparing weddings. I'm just in a rush to go to the gym right now, I'll elaborate more later.

wow! you are really helpful here. you sure gave me a lot of idea and it is really hard what to do first. i mean.. we havent even decided on where to get married ( the church i mean...) and it is quite hard to make sure that all the people on the said dates you will set will be available...

Another suggestion: think of a theme aside from color motiff for your wedding. The theme will give a certain direction to your preparation. For example, if your wedding is Filipiniana themed, then all the materials like the invitation, the giveaways, the gowns, the venue styling is connected to the theme. Thus, it unifies the details of your wedding. Other themes that are famous for weddings are movie themes, spring theme, vintage theme, romantic theme etc. Choosing a theme that has something to do with both the personalities of the bride and the groom makes the wedding more personalized. As for the church and venues, there are a lot of nice churches in Metro Manila like the San Agustin Church, Malate Church, Manila Cathedral, etc. Book a church first so that you can choose a venue near the church.

thank you so much. we are thinking of sanctuario de san antonio and a plate in dinner. i think having a buffet is not very comfortable for the guests.. i dont want to see people standing and waiting in line for their food. would that be a good idea? hehe
